Meet The Team: Shasta Clokey

Each week we will introduce you to a member of the Tilt Five team who are helping to bring holograms home. Learn more about the people who are building the next generation in gaming!

This week we would like to introduce you to Shasta.

Shasta is one of our talented Software Engineers who is currently working on tracking and gameboard detection. We asked him a couple questions and here is what he had to say.

What do you do at Tilt Five?

My day-to-day is filled with investigations into the right tracking model parameters, building out gameboard detection/testing infrastructure for our MixCast integration, and learning as much as I can about all the cool algorithms that make the Tilt Five glasses tick.

What do you like about working at Tilt Five?

I like getting to learn from so many intelligent people every day. There is a great atmosphere where everyone is charging forward, which feeds my desire to keep solving problems!

What’s your background?

I cut my teeth in college building demos, showcasing, and working on the motion algorithms for an omnidirectional VR movement platform with three other co-founders who were mentors and inspired me to pursue engineering.

I wanted to build a strong foundation, so I spent three years after graduation writing firmware for scientific tools used to survey holes and classify rocks at mining operations around the world. Working at Tilt Five has been the perfect combination of getting to solve challenging technical problems and being excited about the product we’re bringing to life.

What are the values that drive you?

Creativity - Willingness to be open to new ideas and passions when they float by.

Relationships - Building and maintaining connections that cut through all the noise in this world with people I love, trust, and have fun with.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

I’m a big outdoors person. I love surfing, mountain biking, backpacking, or anything that will let me sit out in nature. Pick-up basketball is also a fun way to feed my competitive side!
