We believe the rocket fuel to tabletop AR is a potent mixture of Tilt Five technology and your amazing games that take advantage of our unique system. The Tilt Five Game Dev Program is designed to assist qualified PC, mobile, and VR/AR game developers and to help bring your amazing games to the Tilt Five system!

What We're Looking For:

  • Released/Shipped or near finished games
  • Consumer gaming content (not focusing on education, enterprise, tools currently)
  • True 3D games make the best holograms (not 2D, sprite-based, or fixed-perspective games)
  • Ideally top-down or ‘god view’ gameplay camera
  • Windows or Android based games

WHAT TYPES OF USB PORTS ARE VIABLE? DOES THE USB PASS DVI OR DISPLAYPORT?

Our USB-C cable uses standard USB 3.0 data, and does not pass DVI/DisplayPort data.

Note that the Tilt Five™ glasses must use a USB 3.0 or 3.1 – aka “SuperSpeed” – port. On your Windows 10 PC, these ports are usually indicated by an SS icon.


DOES THE SDK AUTOMATICALLY DETECT LE OR XE GAMEBOARD CONFIGURATION?

Not currently. We’re looking at doing auto detection and some other solutions. We’re still exploring the best way to support this feature.

WILL THE DRIVERS AND/OR PROGRAMS THAT RUN ON TILT FIVE BE FORCED INTO LOCKSTEP UPDATES?

It is our goal to not allow a newer SDK version to lock you out of playing older games. Though throughout Beta and early on we will need to be in Lockstep, our goal is not to be restrictive (there will always be some limitations)!

CAN I USE TILT FIVE FOR NON-GAMING APPLICATIONS?

Yes. We think there are plenty of great uses for our system outside of gaming including 3D data visualization, displaying and working with 3D models, visualization for architecture, engineering and construction, medical applications, educational content, and so much more. Our initial focus, however, is on bringing amazing games to life for players with Tilt Five.

Every Tilt Five kit purchased is a developer kit, and we encourage interested parties to try out their ideas with the glasses and one of many 3D development platforms such as Unity3D and Unreal Engine.


IS OPENXR SUPPORTED?

Not yet. It makes sense for us to add support for OpenXR at some point. First, we will get a better understanding of its scope of usage among our developer audiences. Want to weigh in? Get in touch with us about your OpenXR needs.

WILL I NEED TO PUBLISH A TILT FIVE VERSION OF MY GAME?

Tilt Five's SDK will expose C APIs for native code on all supported host platforms. We also will provide plug-ins for developers using Unity 2018.4 LTS + and Unreal Engine 4 to develop games

WHICH GAME ENGINES CAN I USE TO DEVELOP TILT FIVE APPLICATIONS?

AS A DEVELOPER, DO I HAVE TO SUPPORT THE TILT FIVE WAND IN MY GAME?

No. The wand is best for providing tracked interactions. If your application does not require 6DoF tracking for input, then we encourage you to consider using a standard keyboard, mouse, gamepad, or mobile device for input.

WHAT TYPES OF GAMES ARE BEST SUITED TO TILT FIVE?

3D games with top down views work particularly well. We expect game developers to experiment with innovative designs, gameplay styles, and unique in-game cameras that make for a super fun experience on the system.

HOW DOES MULTIPLAYER WORK?

Multiplayer is supported at the host platform level. Our SDK provides access to data that enables developers to create shared experiences connected on the network.

AS A DEVELOPER, HOW DO I PARTNER WITH YOU TO BRING MY GAME TO TILT FIVE?

We're looking for select partners to work with now. If you have an amazing tabletop game that would work great with our glasses, please contact our Developer Relations team to discuss.
